How types work
SaaS: Hosted software for work, used online and sold on a recurring plan (a free plan counts). The maker sets it; until then AppFinder suggests it when the listing runs on the web, has paid plans and is made for work (its category, or wording such as teams, businesses or per-user prices).
An app can have several types. Web, mobile and desktop come from the platforms on its listing and open source from its pricing model; SaaS, browser extension, API and command-line types are set by the maker, or suggested by AppFinder from the listing and its website until the maker sets them. Payment never adds or removes a type.
