Use AppFinder from your AI assistant
Connect Claude, ChatGPT or any assistant that supports MCP, then ask it to find software the way you'd ask our advisor. It gets the same organic rankings, with the facts behind every pick.
Connect
https://appfinder.tech/api/mcp- In your assistant’s settings, add a custom connector (or MCP server) and paste the URL above. Menu names differ by app and plan.
- Leave authentication off: there is no account to connect.
- Ask for what you need, for example “find a project management tool for a 12-person dev team with sprints, GitHub and SSO, under $15 a user”.
For developers: MCP over Streamable HTTP, stateless, JSON responses, no authentication. Every tool is read-only except prepare_listing, which saves a draft form for you to review. Up to 120 requests per 10 minutes and 10 drafts per hour per address.
What your assistant can do
recommend_apps- Ranks apps against what you need, with the facts behind each pick, what's missing, and one question that would narrow the list.
search_apps- Finds apps by name, keyword or job.
get_app- One app's listing: pricing, platforms, features, integrations, rating and facts with their sources.
compare_apps- Two apps side by side: what both have and what only one has.
find_alternatives- Apps that do what an app does, and what buyers who replaced it chose.
list_categories- The directory's categories.
category_demand- What buyers in a category ask for, as anonymous totals.
check_listing- Whether a website already has a listing here, and its page.
prepare_listing- Fills in the listing form for your own app and gives you a private link to review and submit it.
List your app from your AI assistant
Building something? Ask your assistant, for example “List my app example.com on AppFinder”, and tell it what the app does. It fills in the listing form from what you said and your website, then gives you a link.
- Open the link and sign in, or create a free account.
- Check every field and fix anything that’s off, then submit it for review.
- We review it like any other submission. Nothing is public until we approve it, and listing is free.
The link works for 7 days and only fills in the form: your assistant can’t publish or submit anything on its own. If your app is already listed, your assistant links you to its page so you can claim it instead.
The same rules as the site
- Results are organic: positions can’t be bought, and no paid placement is ever included in what your assistant receives.
- Every fact names its source (a vendor fact, a pricing page, the directory listing), and every result links to its page here.
- We don’t store what your assistant sends, except a listing draft it prepares for you, which is deleted when you submit it or after 7 days. We do count, per app, how often an app was returned to an AI assistant, de-duplicated with the same daily visitor code the site uses, and show the app’s owner that total; it never affects rankings. To have your choices help rank apps for the next person, use the advisor on the site.
