How types work
APIs & developer platforms: The maker marks it as an API or developer platform, or its listing presents it as one (an API, an SDK, hosting or a backend for developers).
An app can have several types. Web, mobile and desktop come from the platforms on its listing and open source from its pricing model; SaaS, browser extension, API and command-line types are set by the maker, or suggested by AppFinder from the listing and its website until the maker sets them. Payment never adds or removes a type.
