AppFinder API

Every answer is JSON shaped { data, meta }, or { error: { code, message } } with a 400, 404 or 429 status. Browsers can call it directly (CORS is open for GET).

GET /api/v1/search

Search listed apps by what they do. Most relevant first.

• q (required): What you're looking for, e.g. kanban or invoicing for freelancers (max 120 characters).
• category: A category slug or name to narrow the search.
• limit: Results to return, 1 to 25 (default 10).

Example: /api/v1/search?q=kanban&limit=5

GET /api/v1/apps/{slug}

One app: description, categories, pricing, platforms, features, integrations, rating and sourced facts.

• slug (required): The app's slug, the last part of its /apps/<slug> address.

Example: /api/v1/apps/zendesk

GET /api/v1/apps/{slug}/alternatives

Alternatives to an app: same category, most shared features first, with the reasons.

• slug (required): The app's slug.

Example: /api/v1/apps/zendesk/alternatives

GET /api/v1/compare

Two apps side by side: pricing, and which features, integrations and platforms they share or don't.

• a (required): First app's slug.
• b (required): Second app's slug.

Example: /api/v1/compare?a=xero&b=ynab

GET /api/v1/categories

Every category with its app count.Example: /api/v1/categories

Machine-readable: OpenAPI document. Search returns up to 25 results (default 10).

• Up to 120 requests per 10 minutes per address. Over it you get 429 and a Retry-After header. Responses are cached for 5 minutes, so please cache too.
• Organic data only: positions can't be bought and paid placements are never included. Free to use; please credit AppFinder with a link to https://appfinder.tech.
• It is the same data as the MCP connector and the website: free listing facts, with the source of each fact where we have one.
• Be kind to the service: no bulk copying of the whole directory. If you need more, tell us.
